Totti set to miss out

AS Roma captain and talisman Francesco Totti is a major doubt ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter final after picking up a thigh injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Cagliari.

The 31-year-old forward played the full 90 minutes, and even scored with a fine free-kick just before half-time. But he later complained of a problem in his left thigh.

After initial examinations, club doctors prescribed "a few days of rest", which would mean he would miss the last eight first leg clash at Stadio Olimpico.

If Totti does not recover in time, he would most likely be replaced by Mirko Vucinic, who came in for the Itialian international when he was injured during the group stages.

Vucinic provides a threat of his own, and has scored four goals in six appearances in the Champions League this season.
